DeskPort for iPhone, iPad and Android — Privacy Policy The Android app is in Google Play closed testing and not yet publicly listed. Effective: 2026-09-28
DeskPort is a remote desktop client. It connects to computers you authorize. It does not require a DeskPort account and contains no advertising or analytics SDK.
Remote sessions The host sends screen images, audio and connection information to your device. Your device sends keyboard, pointer and touch input to the host. These are processed to operate the session; DeskPort does not upload session content to a developer-operated server. Only connect to hosts you trust. Network security depends on the host, protocol and network configuration; not every connection or media channel is guaranteed to be encrypted.
Data stored on your device Saved host names, addresses, pairing/binding credentials, certificates and preferences are stored locally. During device approval, an app-generated client identifier, device name/model and connection details are sent to the computer you choose; that computer keeps its authorization record. These identifiers are not advertising identifiers and are not sent to a developer-operated service. Remove a saved host from Devices to remove its saved connection. Removing a host does not revoke authorization on that computer: also revoke the client in the host settings. Deleting the app removes its app-container data. The Android app excludes all of its data from cloud backup and device-to-device transfer, so saved hosts and credentials never move to another phone; Apple operating-system backups are managed by the system. Data already on a host is managed separately.
Network discovery and third parties Local-network permission enables host discovery and connections. Current Apple and Android versions do not query a third-party service to discover your public IP address. You can connect using locally discovered hosts or an address you enter. Existing saved addresses are retained; remove a host to clear its saved connection. Network providers and authorized hosts process connection traffic. The earlier TestFlight build 1.0 (1) may query stun.moonlight-stream.org for public IPv4 discovery.
Permissions Apple: Local Network permission enables host discovery and connections; Bluetooth supports the optional Citrix X1 mouse. Standard keyboards and mice use system input support. Android: internet and network/Wi-Fi state support discovery and connections; a wake lock keeps the screen and connection active during a session; vibration provides controller rumble and touch feedback; keyboard capture sends system key combinations to the host while you are connected. Android TV integration can store local launcher entries. Neither client requests photo-library, microphone, contacts or location access.
Diagnostics and support The app can write technical connection diagnostics locally. Apple or Google may provide crash and performance reports according to their platform and your device settings. DeskPort does not include a third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDK. If you contact support, the information you choose to send is used to investigate your request. Do not post passwords, pairing tokens, public/private addresses, personal screenshots or employer information in public issues.
