Darkroom Kit uses Apple's Photos APIs to process photos on your device. It reads photo resources, filenames, identifiers, capture and modification dates, location/GPS/address metadata, dimensions and album membership to inspect photos and perform cleanup, location filling or capture-time corrections you explicitly confirm. The app does not upload photos or this metadata to the developer.

There is no account, advertising, tracking, analytics SDK or automatic developer crash-upload service. The app does not sell photo or usage data. Apple's system diagnostics and iCloud services follow your Apple settings and Apple's policies.

Language preferences are stored locally. Cleanup stores compressed-photo exports and persistent records containing identifiers, filenames, progress, checksums and supported metadata. Local diagnostics may also contain resource identifiers and filenames. Cleanup files are excluded from backup. Successful cleanup removes the corresponding export; unfinished exports and records remain until app data is removed. There is no in-app erase-all command. Removing app data loses recovery records without undoing Photos changes; resolve interrupted work first. Deleting the Mac app bundle alone may leave its Application Support data.

You can revoke Photos access in system Settings. Cleanup requires full access; the bundled sample requires none. Scanning does not download iCloud originals. Downloads require your action, and Apple's Photos service may retrieve resources from iCloud. Photos changes may synchronize to your other devices according to your iCloud settings.

Place search and maps use Apple Maps. Search terms, the viewed map area and related coordinates are sent to Apple's services to provide results and map content, under Apple's privacy policy. The app does not request your device's current-location permission or upload photo files for these features. Map services require a network connection and availability can vary by region.

GPX files you explicitly import and selected reference-photo times and locations are processed on-device to suggest missing shooting locations. The app does not upload these files or reference photos to a developer service. Choosing a file from iCloud Drive or another file provider may cause that provider to download it. Location inspection reads locally available originals only; cloud-only or unreadable originals are skipped. Metadata tools need Photos access to the selected assets; limited access restricts which photos can be used.

Location and time changes create a separate local metadata history containing photo identifiers, filenames, before/after times and coordinates, resource signatures, reference-photo snapshots where applicable, and operation status. It contains no image files. These records remain in app data and may be included in system backups according to your settings; unlike cleanup exports, this history is not explicitly excluded from backup. Removing app data removes the records without undoing Photos changes. There is no in-app erase-all command.
